Thomas Harris Properties, Inc. and Harris-Ainsworth Development Company Inc. specialize in cottage-style apartments and apartments in older homes in Historic West End, Ardmore and the Owen Drive neighborhood we call Polo Cottages at Reynolda and Polo Cottages II (a quiet residential street off Polo Road one mile from Reynolda Gardens and WFU). We also have a limited number of single-family homes in Ardmore and the Country Club Road area for rent.

We have everything from tiny but classy studio cottages and apartments to spacious three-bedroom historic townhouses and single-family homes. Our apartments and homes are typically located in a neighborhood setting rather than in an apartment complex. Many of our apartments are in classy older homes that have been lovingly restored, and others are in new Charleston-Style or vernacular cottages designed and built by Thomas Harris Building & Design Inc. In our homes and cottage apartments, you will often find special touches such as “rocking chair” style porches or decks, stained glass, hardwood floors, ceramic tile, Berber carpet, and professionally installed security systems.

Each property has central air and heat, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room and either a washer/dryer connection or a washer/dryer actually furnished. Nearly all have a professionally-installed security system, mini blinds and off-street parking. We only rent what we own, so you will not be dealing with property managers or absentee landlords.

Our apartments are very popular and lease quickly when available, so we don’t always have one to rent. Availability is best for new rentals to begin in the summer months since our leases normally begin and end in the summer. Due to job transfers, we do have a limited number of apartments available for leases to begin in months other than the summer months.
